Winter, Weather & Wildlife: Homeschool program at Beaver Brook Association in Hollis

Wed Jan 4- March 15 10-1:30pm

The science and the beauty of winter rolled into a big glittering snowball? In this class students will investigate how ice forms and use microscopes to examine snowflakes (conditions permitting). We will expand our study to search where animals over winter and follow and identify their tracks. We will study "Winter, Weather and Deer" to explore in detail how a particular species adapts to winter (physiologically and behaviorally) and how winter affects their survival rate. What do insects do in winter? What is the effect of a January or spring thaw? Wear your snow boots, bring a snack and lunch, water bottle and lots and lots of questions. We can find out the answers together.
We will not have class March 1st (spring break).
For Students ages 6-13. $350 for 10 weeks. 10% off for BBA members. 10% off for siblings.
