The Voyagers Homeschool Coop and Resource Center is offering a new flexible schedule and tuition options for joining their vibrant and enriching community. Starting in the Winter/Spring Semester (Jan 2019) half day options as well as added benefits for whole day membership will be available.

Voyagers Coop has been operated by homeschoolers and for homeschoolers since 1999. They are a committed group of families who share a passion for their kids and for creating a safe and nourishing learning space. They are excited to be offering these new options and hope that you will come and see what Voyagers is all about!

Keene State College STEM Fair
Registration is due January 5 and is FREE
The mission of the Keene State College STEM Fair is to raise excitement and interest in science, technology, engineering and math in 6th – 8th graders from the Monadnock region by engaging them in a meaningful project shared with their community. We aim to grow the STEM Fair into an important regional event that can help our students compete at the State and National level fairs and can help bring our community together around STEM education. The fair takes place on March 30.

During this painting workshop, you will learn different techniques and applications in landscape painting. Your own style will develop throughout the workshop as you experiment with different approaches and work with a variety of tools and wet media including, watercolor and acrylic.

Wee Wonders Winter Session
Jan 16: Snow Birds
Who are the snow birds? From the black capped chickadee to the great horned owl, these are the birds that brave the cold and snow. We’ll search the area for our local snow birds and find out how they survive through the winter.
Jan 30: Who is Wearing White?
Some animals are very good at disappearing in the winter. Why? Because they “put on” a white winter coat! Come and see if you can find our white animals in winter! We will be on the lookout talk about the unique winter lives of these animals.
Feb 13: Life Under Ice
Fish, frogs and turtles spend their winter under ice. Who else might we find in this wintery water world? How do they survive? Explore this hidden world under the ice, and meet a few of the animals that spend their winter there!

Junior Explorers Winter Session Parents are encouraged to stay and participate.
Jan 16: Snow Birds
Not all snow birds go to Florida. Some birds, like the Snowy Owl, migrate down from Canada to winter in New Hampshire when food is scarce. Discover other irruptive winter visitors. Prepare to take part in Audubon’s NH Winter Bird Survey the second week in February!
Jan 30: Snow walkers
For the naturally curious, signs of animal life abound! Learn about tracks and scat and other visible signs of a variety of animals that stay active in the frosty cold! We will make some tracks of our own as we trek the fields and forest in search of animal evidence.
Feb 13: Life Under the Snow and Ice
What is happening under that ice and snow? Discover New Hampshire’s native species that hunker down for the long New England winter. Fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals-learn how they adapt to survive the winter.

Mammals in your Neighborhood
Friday, January 11
10am – 11:30am
What are warm-blooded, furry, and can be seen in your own backyard? Mammals, of course! Come to the Fishways to learn all about our local mammals. The program includes hands-on activities.

Pizza Party with the Painted Turtles
Saturday, January 12
11am – 12:30pm
Drive away the winter blues with a pizza party. Families will meet our friendly reptile ambassadors during an interactive presentation about the extraordinary turtles and snakes of NH. We will discuss how to treat our slithery, slimy friends with the respect and goodwill they deserve, make a peek-a-boo turtle craft to take home, and round out the day by watching the painted turtles enjoy their lunch while we eat pizza. *KIND
Cost: $15 per family (includes pizza lunch)

Eagles along the Merrimack 
Saturday, January 19
8am – 11am
Join us as we search for bald eagles along the Merrimack River in Manchester. We will begin with an orientation at the center, followed by a quest to spot the first eagle of the day! Expect to carpool, dress warmly, and bring your binoculars if possible. *KIND
Cost: $3 per person, $6 per family

eStart course registration, Spring 2019 semester is open
Courses begin January 22, 2019

eStart is an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their educational experience, and get an early and affordable start on their college careers.

Spring 2019 semester is offering STEM Scholarship Program, Funding is available for students (juniors/seniors) to take up to 2 STEM courses (science, technology, engineering and math) per year, and be fully reimbursed the eStart tuition cost.

Financial assistance is available for eligible students.

Tracking Workshops (ages 11years and up) 
Tracking, as the oldest form of inscribed knowledge upon the face of the earth, is a potent window of insight into the story of Ecology and a re-emerging ancient skill within the modern day Field Ecologist’s tool kit. 
Our Winter’s Classroom will have the following mammals as its focus:

Thames Path Excursion Fall 2019
(suggested ages 14 – 17)
An experiential, placed-based educational immersion opportunity for youth, ages 14 ~ 17 years (recommended age), that will find you walking 180 historical miles of history alongside the Thames River, through London, past castles, into Oxford, and through English villages and fields, where the land will yield its story! Application deadline February 15.

Homeschool Golf Opportunity at Walt Disney World Resort
