New Hampshire Theatre Project is offering three programs for students
10 – 18 years of age
The NHTP Youth Repertory Company is for serious students ages 12-17 interested in both personal growth and learning about the fundamentals and power of theatre. The Youth Repertory Company emphasizes the ensemble aspects of performance as well as the process of exploring theatre as a craft, focusing on technique and collaboration rather than “spectacle.”
The West End Youth Players is for ages 10-16. It is for those who want a fun, supportive, hands-on introduction to acting and the theatre arts. NHTP’s West End Youth Players work collaboratively to create a brand new dramatic work around a chosen theme, incorporating writing, acting, directing, movement, music, and art.
The NHTP’s Tech Troupe is a technical internship program for ages 12-18. Tech Troupegives interested students the opportunity to learn about all backstage areas of theatre, including lighting, set and costume design, stage management, directing, and business administration.

Book Discussion Group in Wolfeboro
We’re ready to start the 17th year of our homeschooled high schoolers book discussion group. We meet once a month, starting in October, and discuss a classic book, play, or short stories. As we dig into a work’s significance, students learn to state their opinions and back up their viewpoints. We love to read quotes from the books and delve into the lives of the authors. We discuss our reading for about an hour and then socialize for another hour.
Books and plays we have planned for this year include: A Farewell to Arms, 1984, The Scarlet Letter, Frankenstein, Romeo and Juliet, The Chosen, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and selected short stories.
We will most likely meet on Monday or Tuesday evenings at 7:00, at our house in Wolfeboro. If you’re interested in joining this year or would like some more information, please get in touch with Stef Marsh at tumbledowngrl@gmail.com or 569-6382.
The Stratford Club, a Shakespeare reading group, invites new members
The Stratford Club, a Shakespeare reading group, meets at the Concord Public Library on Mondays at 1:30pm, from October through May. This intergenerational club has been meeting since 1881, and is currently welcoming new members. We read and discuss three plays each year, usually a history in the fall, tragedy in the winter, and comedy in the spring; this year’s plays will be Henry VI Part 3, King Lear, and Much Ado About Nothing. No prior knowledge of Shakespeare is necessary, just an interest in engaging with the Bard and getting to know his works. Given the content of both the plays and discussions, the Stratford Club is probably best suited for adults and high school students. Please contact Janine Condi at desdemona_36@hotmail.com for more information.
